sd_christians's Journal

San Diego Christians
Posting Access:
All Members
This journal is for Christians living in San Diego county. It serves to share our faith, assist in times of distress, promote & create friendships and as a way for fellow Christ believer's to come together. I would prefer members be between the ages 18-45, as I have an interest in having gatherings.

There are 2 requirements in joining:
1) Consider yourself to be Christian, believing in the Heavenly Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

2) Live in or be in the process of moving to San Diego, Ca

The reason I created sd_christians is because there was none (until now). I didn't create this community for me, I created it for everyone. It's not just about having get togethers, it's about sharing devotionals, prayer requests, praise reports...
I purposely don't want this community to be about me or what I want from it.
I want everyone to participate, and share -- so that whoever is a member expresses whatever that maybe and it proves to meet a vast amount of needs.
Thanks, and welcome to our community!! =)

Please LJ-Cut your posts if they are lengthy or contain multiple images. Especially news articles!

LJ-Cut your posts -- and think before you post. If you think it's going to spur lots of negativity and un-productivity, do you really want to post it?

Off-topic posts will be deleted at the moderators' discretion.

I will try to warn members if their post violates the spirit of this journal. Vulgar and inappropriate remarks will very likely be deleted.

Please email superly (at the listed email address) if you have any problems, questions, comments, complaints about a member or if you have a community you'd like to promote.

"It's your beauty Lord
that makes us stand in silence."

We ask God:
You haven't given up on me yet?
And He answers:

"You don't know where
the wind's gonna blow...
And since you can't take it with you,
better give it away before you go."

"There is no remedy for love but to love more."
~Henry David Thoreau

"And every generation's got
The fearless few who can't be bought
They don't take polls or look around
They act on truth, and then they stand their ground."

"I believe in Christianity as I believe the sun has risen.
Not only because I can see it,
but because by it,
I see everything else."
~C.S. Lewis

God is Faithful.

"Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth." And God said: "This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth." And God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth."
~Genesis 9:11-17 (NKJV)

Christianity is love
brought to you by the isLove Generator

"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another. "
~John 15:9-17 (NKJV)

"Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men."
~Romans 12:9-18 (NKJV)

Marriage is love.

Build houses and dwell in them; plant gardens and eat their fruit. Take wives and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters--that you may be increased there, and not diminished. And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace.
~Jeremiah 29:5-7 (NKJV)

And I helped you to thrive like a plant in the field. You grew up and became a beautiful jewel. Your breasts became full, and your hair grew, though you were still naked. And when I passed by and saw you again, you were old enough to be married. So I wrapped my cloak around you to cover your nakedness and declared my marriage vows. I made a covenant with you, says the Sovereign LORD, and you became mine. "Then I bathed you and washed off your blood, and I rubbed fragrant oils into your skin.
~Ezekiel 16:7-9 (NLT)

Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place under these circumstances: When His mother Mary had been promised in marriage to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be pregnant [through the power] of the Holy Spirit.
~Matthew 1:18 (AMP)
